Why Padi Institute

What you can expect when you attend

Faculty with Practice Experience

Our instructors have worked in Malaysian financial services, legal practice, or accounting. They teach from experience, not from slides assembled for a general audience.

Grounded in Malaysian Law and Practice

Courses address the EPF, PRS, hibah arrangements, and Malaysian succession law — not generic frameworks adapted from other jurisdictions.

A Room of Peers

Every session is attended by adults who are in a broadly similar position in life. The questions asked in the room reflect that, and the discussion is the better for it.

Written Materials Included

Course notes, reading lists, and — for the lecture series — a written précis are included in the course fee. Nothing is sold separately after enrolment.

Schedules That Suit Working Adults

The ten-week course meets on Wednesday evenings. Estate and lecture sessions run on Saturday mornings. These hours were chosen to suit people who are still working or recently retired.

No Sales During Sessions

Padi Institute does not sell financial products. Sessions are educational, and faculty members do not provide personal financial advice or recommendations during class.

Have a question before you decide to enrol?

We are happy to describe a course in more detail, confirm whether a particular session is open, or discuss which programme may be the better fit. Write to us or call.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who are these courses intended for?

The courses are designed for adults in their forties, fifties, and sixties who want to think more carefully about their financial arrangements — household savings, estate planning, or a specific topic in personal finance. No previous financial training is assumed or needed.

Are sessions held in person?

Yes. All sessions take place at our premises at 82, Jalan Kelawai, George Town, Penang. We find that adults attending for this purpose benefit from the discussion that happens in a room with other people, and we do not offer recorded or online alternatives at this time.

What is included in the course fee?

Each course includes all printed or distributed materials — session notes, readings, and supplementary references. For the Single-Subject Lecture, a written précis is sent before the session and a reading list is provided afterwards. There are no additional charges once you have enrolled.

How do I enrol in a course?

Use the contact form on this page, call our office at +60 4-228 7641, or write to us at [email protected]. We will confirm the next available session and provide payment details. Places are limited in each intake and are confirmed on receipt of payment.

Will the faculty provide personal financial advice?

No. Padi Institute is an educational organisation. Our faculty explain how different instruments and arrangements work and what considerations apply to them in a Malaysian context. They do not provide personal recommendations, and the institute does not sell financial products or receive commissions of any kind.

How large are the classes?

The Ten-Week Capital Course and Estate Reading are capped at eighteen participants. The Saturday lecture is open to a slightly larger group. We keep numbers small so that questions can be asked and the session can respond to what the room actually needs, rather than following a script.

When are the next sessions?

Session schedules change each term. Contact us directly and we will tell you what is currently scheduled and whether places remain. We can also add you to a notification list if a course is currently full.
